Don't forget that the first Faith Men’s Retreat, “Real Men, Real Relationships,” is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 6 and 7. More details are on the way, but we’ll gather at 5pm at the beautiful Birchwood Camp in Chugiak (make your way to Chugiak High School and you can’t miss it … map). Meals are provided and things will wrap-up by 5pm on Saturday.

This will be a great opportunity for the men of Faith to reflect on what the Bible says about our relationship with our Lord, our wife, our children, and also each other. Dr. Gary Yagel is the speaker and he has a great deal of experience ministering to Christian men.

Dr. Yagel is the founder of Forging Bonds Ministry and is the author of Got Your Back: Helping Christian Men Forge the Brotherhood Connections They Need. He does a lot of training for PCA churches across the nation, serving as a Men’s Ministry Consultant for the Committee on Disciple Ministries of our denomination. He focuses on the unique ways men grow in grace in the life of the church, which is the subject of his doctoral dissertation at Reformed Theological Seminary. He and his wife currently live in the DC area.

A couple of notes:

  • The event is open to men age 18 and over who are members or regular attendees of Faith or Redeemer Kenai.

  • Help us with a headcount. Please email office@faithanchorage.org or call the Faith office (907.345.2011) by Friday, March 23, to let us know if you can make it.

  • The cost is $30 per person (make checks payable to Faith Presbyterian Church with the note, ‘Men’s Retreat,’ in the memo line).

Books of Prayers

Some, on priciple, do not like to read prayers written by others. One hopes that this principle is set aside for the many prayers in Scripture, like Hannah's prayer of praise (1 Sam. 2.1-10) or ...

Commonplace themes in Ecclesiastes

It has been a tremendous experience for me to preach through Ecclesiastes. I had never preached through this book and have been amazed at how intimate a book that it is. For the past three months I ...
